Gotta love family

So my weekend has been amazing! Friday, my wife and I went get our horses and brought them over to my mother in law's house for a bit of riding (Pepper) and groundwork (Cheyenne). We had a blast. Our roommates ended up meeting us there and I convinced them to ride. They had a blast. Josh, who has never been on a horse before, took to it like a duck to water. He loved it!

I even got my brother to ride as well. Pepper is such an amazing horse. She rode like a dream! We had not ridden in almost 8 months, yet Pepper acted like this was a daily thing.

All wasn't kosher, however. In transit, Cheyenne busted her head in the trailer. She has a deep gash from the top of her eye, to the center of her star. It looks like it will heal fine, but she may have a scar. All in all, it was an amazing day.

So my wife's family gets together each holiday at her grandpa's place (the farm). This weekend we celebrated Easter. We do this so everyone can celebrate together, but still have their personal time for the actual holiday. Everyone brings their dogs, so I brought Dutchess. She had a BLAST! We also got to try out the new harness we bought her. It worked like a charm. She did so well meeting the other dogs. She's so submissive...she would tuck her tail and run to me every time a new dog met her.

My wife's aunt was there also with her great dane, Bella. This dog is simply gorgeous. She is also deaf.

Needless to say, we had an amazing weekend. Gotta love family time! :)

Yawn...

Blah, it's 5 am, and I have yet to go to bed. I am running off of 3 hours of sleep from last night. But strangely enough, I'm not tired. We have had an eventful night, I learned yoga on the X Box Kinect. I must say I have the utmost respect for people who do yoga! I am SORE! But this will be my new work out, accompanied by the boxing workout as well. I WILL be thin again!!
But I am off to bed now, good night/morning I shall sleep now. :)

Home sick makes me sick

So, since I moved 10 hours away from "home" over a year ago, I've gotten homesick about once. Usually it's the whole "I miss my mommy" bs that gets lumped in with homesickness. Well, I have a new sickness. I have "foodsickness". Not to be confused with sickness-from-food, but rather a great yearning for they type of food I grew up on. The amazing Cajun dishes like rice dressing, jambalaya, crawfish étouffée and oh my word do I miss boiled crawfish. I miss the food, and the hospitality that comes in a small southern town. Now, don't get this confused with home sickness. I don't miss everyone knowing every move I make,  I don't miss breathing in water, or sweating the minute I step outside.

On another note...
Tiger-Lilly is pregnant. Woo. But pregnancy suits her well. She's so lovable and pretty.

Look at that belly! She had been transitioned to an outside cat, but until she has the babies and is fixed, she will be my office cat :)

We also got Cheyenne's teeth done yesterday. She had to have them floated and 2 pulled. Poor baby, she was so mistreated before we got her. The vet said this is why she was so thin, she was having trouble eating and I can only imagine how painful it was. Not to mention what  relief it is to have them out.

She was a little woozy afterwards, haha
